My first try at Haiku

Midnight cigarette,
Passed from your mouth to my mouth.
Amidst nothingness.

Overcooked thoughts

These thoughts which I believe to be mine,
Weary thoughts used many a times,
Within me they ring so loud.
Their ghostly echoes smeared on my mouth.
Trapped, they don't leak out as deeds.
My selfishness keeps them on a leash.
I keep them hidden day after day.
These repeating thoughts wasting away.

The Medal

On this celebrated day of the year,
Morning crowds, they gather to cheer.
Amidst the drums' and trumpets' roar
And an eager face in uniform.
His name called out as though,
He was but a glorious hero!
And someone supposedly important
With a half fake smile, shaking his hand,
Puts up these metallic suns on him.
On his shirt pocket, held by a pin.
Piercing and beading away some lives;
Death toll adding to his style.

Ngasigi

Seekhre mi mayaam
Lamse leihaao di leiri.
Chaakkhre lambi-thong
Chatnabidi chatnari.
Mi maru ngaa maruna loo-re
Punsi mahaaodi yaaori.
Sor machaasing sor mapina honsinkhre
Machaana mapidi yokli.
Nungsitti maaikei-maaikeida sitli
Eikhoi amatadi lengdre.
Seireng kayaadi lengnari
Waarisingdi hongdre.

Mother mosquito

Humming a slow sad song,
My ears can hardly tune in.
You fly around a mundane flight,
With a belly full of sin.

You sin for your babies, I’ve heard,
Those upside down infants.
Who know not your burden and life
Thriving gleefully in a thicker plane

“Infectant” is your other name.
It is called out in such disdain .
Crushed into a blood stain
That’s not even yours to claim .

But tonight I see a different story.
I see myself in your tiny body.
By letting you fly away unhurt,
My infinite selfishness I usurp.
